Chromacore

In your relentless pursuit of scientific progress, you've finally created the impossible particle: the Chromacore! The only problem, it's unstable and we're all going to die!

Chromacore is a one-button arcade game for the Game Boy Advance, which you can also play right here in your browser. Fire wavelets into the core to match colours and blow them apart before it grows into your orbit. The longer you last, the faster everything spins.

I made the first version in a personal game jam back in 2017, for the iPhone. The idea was: what if Puzzle Bobble, but the only thing you could do was tap? I found the old code gathering dust in an archive, and realised it was a perfect fit for the GBA. The port is written in Rust using the agb framework.

Controls: 

• Z (A button) or tap to fire 
• Enter (Start) to pause 
• Esc for controls and volume

Download the .gba to play it on real hardware or in an emulator.

PS. Trouble telling colours apart? Turn on COLOUR SYMBOLS in the menu. It's colourblind friendly.
